Why we test

A sample is a guess.
Your floor is the answer.

The same stain can look different on your floor than on the sample. Four things decide how it reads:

  1. Wood species

The species changes how a stain takes.

  2. Your light

The room's light changes how the color looks.

  3. What's already there

    Cabinets, baseboards and furniture.

  4. Sheen

Matte, satin or gloss changes the color too.

The range

Natural to ebony.
Chosen in your home.

Each sample is a close-up of a floor we finished. Pick one to see a job in that tone.

Dark stains show dust and scratches more, and light stains show other kinds of marks. It's worth weighing before you choose.

How we choose it

Four steps.
One color you approved.

  1. Review the options

We bring samples from our mobile showroom to your home.

  2. Test on your wood

Sample colors go on your own floor.

  3. Approve the color

Nothing goes on the whole floor until you say yes.

  4. Apply and protect

The stain goes on, then the protective finish.

Based in Atlanta. Working nearby.

Our office is at 810 Huntcliff Village Ct, Atlanta, GA 30350. Not sure we cover your street? Enter your ZIP in the form and we'll tell you.

Can you change the color of my existing floor?

Yes, in most cases. We sand the floor, apply the new stain and seal it.

Can you match a color I already have?

We work to match it, with tests on your own floor before the color goes on the whole room.

Will the floor look like the sample?

Not always, which is why we test the color on your own wood, in your home's light, before you approve it.

Do dark colors show more dust and scratches?

Yes. Dark stains show dust and scratches more, and light stains show other kinds of marks. It's worth weighing before you choose.

Can new and old floors share one color?

Often, yes. We look at both floors before we promise a match.

Which colors can I choose from?

From natural and light to warm honey, rich auburn and dark ebony. Your wood species, your light, what's already in the room and the sheen you pick all change how a color reads.
